Our ear tag uses Photoplethysmography (PPG) - the exact optical technology found in hospital pulse oximeters and modern smartwatches. Tiny LEDs shine into the ear’s highly vascular tissue, while a high-precision sensor measures the reflected light changing with every heartbeat. From these subtle fluctuations, we extract heart rate, HRV, and blood oxygen levels. A long-standing standard in human medicine, now a major breakthrough for dairy farming.
